Intended Use For IN VITRO diagnostic use in the quantitative determination of Glucose in serum using manual or automated applications.
Method Principle Glucose Oxidase catalyzes the oxidation of glucose to yield D-glucono-d-lactone and hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide is quantitated via the peroxidase reaction where oxygen is transferred from hydrogen peroxide to a chromogenic acceptor producing a quinoneimine dye. The intensity of the dye color is directly proportional to the concentration of glucose in the serum sample. The reaction scheme illustrates the reactions that occur in this method: |
