DESCRIPTION

Plasma Free

Hemoglobin (PFH)

Automated

Current manual procedures are difficult to carry  out because of the harsh nature of the reagents being used. As a result, these procedures are imprecise and inaccurate. Catachem’s new PFH method is automated and uses optimized, mild, easy-to-handle reagents. This is a two liquid reagent procedure with  a linear range to 100 mg/dl. Assay comes packaged as single or two reagent kit. Method applications for  most analyzers are available.

Bile  Acids

(FDA 510k LISTED)

New Improved Assay Stable Liquid Reagents, Calibrator and Controls

This improved Catachem Bile Acids automated or manual procedure, features: 1. Liquid Stable Reagents. 2. Free of lipemia interference up to    1200 mg/dL triglycerides. 3. High signal resolution for better precision and accuracy. Complementing the Bile Acids Assay are, Bovine serum based Liquid, Stable Calibrator and Controls. The assay is linear up to 250 μmol/L.

(SDH)

Optimized

and

Calibrated Assay

Stable Liquid Reagents,

Calibrator and Controls

Due to changes in the industry, SDH assays lack a standardized reference method. Laboratories using this liver function-specific assay, obtain results by using suboptimum assay conditions and non-stabilized normal ranges. Catachem, Inc. in collaboration with university veterinary labs, has developed an SDH procedure, with optimum reagent formulations and normal values for Equine, Bovine, Feline and Canine species. Additionally, we have found that the procedure performs better, in terms of precision and accuracy, if calibration is done using a stable protein based liquid calibrator. Extinction theoretical K-factors for the current procedures differ from lab to lab and are sensitive to instrument changes thus making the SDH assay inaccurate and imprecise.

Ethylene Glycol

Automated, Fast, Accurate And Precise

Quantitative Assay

Catachem introduces the VetSpec Ethylene Glycol test kit. This assay is the only automated procedure  helping Veterinarians quickly identify toxicity, and determine if immediate treatment is needed. These reagents have being uniquely formulated to provide fast  and accurate results without the interference from glycerol, triglycerides, hemoglobin and bilirubin. This manual or automated test is based on the affinity of the enzyme glycerol dehydrogenase to convert ethylene glycol to glycoaldehyde with concomitant reduction of NAD to NADH. Ethylene glycol results are reported in mg/dL and are directly proportional to the increase in absorbance at         340nm.  Contact Catachem for your evaluation samples.

New Improved

Fructosamine

Single Stable Reagent

moles/L)

This new Fructosamine procedure is more specific and accurate. Lipemic samples and uric acid do not interfere. The method is calibrated with a human serum based glycated protein and results are reported in μmoles per liter with a linear range of    0-1000 μmoles/L. Samples are available for evaluation.

Lactate

SPECIFIC, LIQUID,

STABLE

In this procedure, Lactate in the presence of Lactate Oxidase oxidizes to pyruvate and hydrogen peroxide. The H202 thus formed is quantitated in the presence of 4-aminoantipirine, peroxidase and TOOS to form a chromogen, red quinoneimine that has a maximum absorption at 550nm. This analysis requires a single reagent and comes in liquid form ready-for-use.

(Β-HBA)

Β-Hydroxybutyrate

IMPROVED-LIQUID

CATACHEM VetSpec line of reagents  features

B-HBA, formulated to meet the high standards required in veterinary medicine. This B-HBA method is highly specific thus providing accurate and precise results. This end point procedure utilizes two Working Reagents ready-for-use, and is stable to the expiration date of the specific lot. Samples for evaluation available upon request.

Bromide

UNIQUE FOR THE

VETERINARY LAB

CATACHEM VetSpec automated Potassium Bromide procedure does not require protein extraction or centrifugation. This unique procedure features liquid reagent formulations. It is a ready for use, two reagent method, with working stabilities to expiration.

The fully automated Bromide procedure is based on the gold chloride reaction and it is in direct agreement with the reference manual gold chloride method.
